TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. General 

 

1.1 The VIVA Charity Walk 2026 (“Event”) is organised by VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer (“Organiser”) in accordance with these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). 

 

1.2 By completing the registration for the Event, participants confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to abide by these Terms and any additional instructions issued by the Organiser from time to time. 

 

1.3 Participants must provide accurate and complete personal information during registration. The Organiser shall not be responsible for any issues arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by participants. 

 

1.4 The Organiser may contact participants via email or other communication channels for updates regarding the Event. 

 

1.5 The Organiser reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Continued participation in the Event constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. 

 

1.6 These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Singapore. 

 

2. Event Format 

 

2.1 The Event consists of one category only: a 2km non-competitive charity walk. 

 

2.2 The Event is designed as a community participation activity and is not a race. There will be no timing system, rankings, or prizes for finishing positions. 

 

2.3 Participants are encouraged to walk at a comfortable pace and enjoy the experience with family and friends. 

 

3. Registration 

 

3.1 Registration is open to individuals of all ages. All children participants (aged 12 and below) will need to be accompanied by an adult.

 

3.2 The Organiser reserves the right to accept or reject any registration at its sole discretion without providing reasons. 

 

3.3 Registration fees (if applicable) are non-refundable once registration is confirmed. 

 

3.4 As this is a charity initiative, all registrations are final. If you are unable to attend, transferring your registration or bib to another person is strictly prohibited.

 

3.5 The Organiser reserves the right to limit the number of participants for safety and logistical reasons. 

 

4. Event Route and Schedule 

 

4.1 The Organiser reserves the right to modify the Event route, programme, or schedule for safety or operational reasons. 

 

4.2 Participants are required to start the walk within the designated flag-off period as announced by the Organiser. 

 

4.3 Participants must follow the designated route and instructions provided by event officials, volunteers, and safety personnel at all times. 

 

4.4 Pets, bicycles, skateboards, inline skates, and other wheeled devices are not permitted on the walking route unless otherwise approved by the Organiser. 

 

5. Safety and Medical Advisory 

 

5.1 Participants take part in the Event at their own risk. The Organiser, sponsors, and appointed officials shall not be liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained during participation in the Event. 

 

5.2 Participants are strongly encouraged to ensure that they are medically fit before participating in the Event. 

 

5.3 The Organiser reserves the right to remove any participant deemed physically unfit or incapable of continuing the Event for safety reasons. 

 

 

6. Weather and Event Changes 

 

6.1 The Organiser reserves the right to delay, modify, or cancel the Event due to adverse weather conditions, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances. 

 

6.2 In the event of cancellation or postponement, the Organiser shall not be liable for any losses or inconvenience caused to participants. 

 

7. Photography and Media 

 

7.1 The Organiser and its appointed partners may photograph, film, or record the Event. 

 

7.2 By participating in the Event, participants grant permission for their image, voice, or likeness to be used in event publicity, marketing materials, and media coverage without compensation. 

 

8. Personal Data 

 

8.1 By registering for the Event, participants consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal data for the purposes of event administration, communication, and related promotional activities. 

 

8.2 The Organiser will take reasonable measures to safeguard participants’ personal data in accordance with applicable data protection regulations. 

 

9. Waiver and Indemnity 

 

9.1 By registering and participating in the Event, participants acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with outdoor physical activities. 

 

9.2 Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser, sponsors, partners, volunteers, and service providers from any claims, liabilities, losses, or damages arising from their participation in the Event. 

 

10. Participant Acknowledgement 

 

By registering for the Event, the participant confirms that: 

  • the information provided during registration is accurate and complete;

  • the participant is medically fit to participate in the Event;

  • the participant agrees to comply with all event rules and instructions; 

  • the participant understands and accepts the risks involved in participating in the Event.
